532. Improvements
Whatever you are practicing, learning, doing, trying-out etc., love the fact that you are getting better and better at it, not that someone might praise you for it.

305. Circumstances
Do not quarrel with your circumstances for this is to rebel against Nature and Nature includes your own Nature. So quarrelling with Nature leads you to self-hatred and ultimately, to your own destruction. If you do not like the circumstances you find yourself in, then study the causes and seek to change them. Then your circumstances will change. Your choices increase with learning. The causes of your circumstances are always within yourself. You must learn to BE the person who can DO the things that allow you to HAVE things the way you want them.

285. Mastery and the Rough Zone
Everyone applies their knowledge daily and so should you. We don't always have enough knowledge, practice or skill to be perfect. We will often encounter rough patches. Only by getting into these rough zones and getting out again do we learn and grow and thereby achieve mastery. Embrace, therefore, the rough patches. This is more than simply "taking the rough with the smooth". It is pro-actively and consciously taking on the challenges and learning, always learning from them.
In this regard, a good discipline is to commit to practicing at least one difficut thing each day.
When you find yourself in a rough situation you must do 3 things. First find out how you got there and learn how to never make that mistake again. Second, figure out how to get out of the situation and what you need to do. Then do it !

247. Modesty in Learning
Never show off your learning by telling everyone how much you know. Always share your knowledge when asked but do it modestly without ostentation.

194. Design Your Curriculum
When it comes to learning, a meaningful curriculum should be consistent and coherent (use joined-up thinking when designing it). If, for example, you are going for a scientific career like medicine etc., whatever other subjects you take, make sure that you take all the scientific ones as well as mathematics. A conflicted curriculum leads tio fragmentation of your learning while a coherent one leads to uniity of education. You should always balance science with the humanities (at least 25%.)

156. Open-mindedness and Learning
On all paths of learning remember that we must be prepared to accept that everything we have learned up to now could be completely wrong !

145. Know Thyself
Written over the Oracle at Delphi are the words "Know Thyself". Look inward. Meditate, reflect and constantly seek the insight to perceive the causes of your successes and your failures. Learn and grow.

74. 3 Important Questions to Ask of Yourself
1. How can I take immediate control of my life ?
2. What can I do today, right now, that will make a real difference ?
3. How can I expand, grow and learn and then share that knowledge with others in a meaningful way ?

35. Prejudice
Prejudice means "To judge before". We can only be prejudiced against that of which we are ignorant. Being prejudiced is like the doctor who prescribes a medicine before he makes his diagnosis or even his examination. When you recognise that you are being prejudiced, go and learn about what it is you are pre-judging
